I'm going to be talking about AI tonight. Why would you do something like that? Well I'm talking about it because very few people are saying anything about it especially in the church and I've been following the network and the AI for 25 years and I have some thoughts on it that I'd like to share. I will now and then be quoting the Bible but you don't have to be a Christian to be here or to get most of what I'm talking about. Having faith is how I deal with all this stuff. Most religions except perhaps very strict atheists do not conceive of the universe as strictly a material place, so there you go, there's some other aspects to it besides materialism that I think we all agree on. And you know in response to, a couple times people have said something to me it's like, I am not here to scare anybody, it's not my thing I don't like to do it. I do it because I think it's the right thing to do. if I know some of the things that I know, if I see a school bus with a tire uh with a nail sticking out of the tire, or if I see some guy walking around with a gun, you know I'm going to let somebody know. It's just not right to know something, or think you know something very strongly like I believe I do, and have researched and to not tell people. So here I am at my church, once. and you know once and for all pretty much telling my church and my community what some of the aspects of this AI thing - what's that? Amen, right on, I'm trying not to yell fire in a crowded theater, trust me. It's calmly informing my community, okay. So why is it important to you? Well in business [adjusts microphone] Oh ,I got to turn this on that's right. Okay so in business, half, almost half of all business managers say they are getting ready to lay people off because of AI. Education, Grand County schools are now using AI as a learning tool, and that is happening all over the world in homes everywhere. All over the world right now, even very small children are having long conversations with AI entities. Digital ID for most people if not whole planet is on the horizon and that's not a conspiracy theory. Law enforcement and militaries are employing AI in robotics drones surveillance, etc. In our culture, art, music, writing, film, reality, pretty much everything we see and hear through the network is to be affected by AI, if it's not affected already. And there there's an element of an odd spiritual riddle about all this stuff. You're going to forgive me please if I bring up riddles as part of the deal. It's how I deal with it as a songwriter, but I will be mentioning riddles through the things, and funny little name things, and stuff like that, which I find interesting, kind of a way of of making light of things. There are other people talking about AI from a Christian or spiritual perspective. The best person is very factual, he's internationally known, Joe Allen, who wrote a book called Dark Eon [Dark Aeon: Transhumanism and the War Against Humanity, by Joe Allen and Stephen K. Bannon, 2023 https://amzn.to/49g5n87] which has all the research. It’s the story of all the people involved in the creation of this, especially the modern characters. I won't mention all the modern characters tonight, but if you want a good book, read Joe Allen's Dark Eon. A good website for Christians on the topic is Peter Herder's Babylon Singularity [https://www.babylonsingularity.com/] It's an interesting website and they both update all the developments of AI on Twitter, if you want to follow those guy. If you forget the names, go look at the YouTube of this and you'll find all those names. The updates happen very fast they happen very frequent every week. There's more news on AI. I will try to tell mostly facts, but I'm into the symbolic stuff too. We have two currents in the technological future. One is outward and that manifests in state movements and global movements towards surveillance and control. The other movement is inward and affects consciousness and biology. AI arose alongside of and was intertwined with a religious movement called transhumanism where people await the melding of man and machine fervently. Here's a quote from Joe Allen. “Transhumanism is a materialist inversion of spiritual aspirations which promises to create a heaven on Earth in exchange for merging our souls with machines.” Pop culture has been telling us for a long time we were going to have to deal with mad scientists and machines. The old alchemists, Frankenstein, the great silent movie Metropolis from 1927, all the way into the Matrix . We got the Terminators, we got the Blade Runners, all those things that have been telling us pretty much what was going to happen. For instance, even in our music strange messages came through. I'm going to see if we can fill in the blanks. Hotel California: “We are all just prisoners here of our own device.” “And she's buying a Stairway to Heaven.” “And the people bowed and prayed to the [neon god they’d made].” Those are three of the most famous pop rock songs of all time, and they all have very interesting messages. Obviously Hotel California is based on immorality and hedonism leading you to a place where you're a prisoner of a device. You just can't kill the Beast, right? Stairway to Heaven is an alchemical song about how you're going to purchase the ladder that goes to heaven - Jacob's Ladder, right? That's what “all that glitters is not gold” means. Very interesting song. And then the Sound of Silence, of course, deals with the religious factor of that. First a little about me. I was a difficult birth. Just kidding. I was born in Flagstaff, raised in Oklahoma, moved to Babylonia. I got a degree in English once, but I stubbornly refused to speak it. I work outdoor labor as a manual technician, and I play music. I make furtive forays into the floundering field of show business and songwriting. My albums are all million sellers. I got a million in the cellar. I'm not an expert on AI, but I play one at church slide shows. These are my jokes, right? Forgot my white lab coat. I did write two books on this topic. I wrote one in 2001, it's called What the Fire Said, and I wrote one in 2011 called Real is Good: Reality, Freedom, and the Computer Network. I also wrote a couple of books on eclipses, but I am going to do everything I can tonight to not talk about eclipses. On that note, for those who saw my Eclipse presentation last year (and I think there's a couple [of people here] who came back) I appreciate you giving me another chance. My books talk about story, and we all have a story, right? It looks like we live in a story too, and the stage for that story was created by God. Maybe we don't feel like life is a story, maybe it feels like more like one big mess, but it's still a story, even [if it’s] a messy one. We love stories so much that this almost has to be a story. We can hardly find a way to describe anything without making it a story, but see there's true stories and then there's fake stories. Another word for fake is artificial, not true, a lie. And then there are facts. A fact is: if I let go of a rock, it drops to the ground. That’s not much of a story, but facts that fit into a pattern that's different, because they can tell a story or tell a riddle, and that's always been the deal here on planet Earth. Facts, theories, riddles, true stories, fake stories, the characters in these stories have choices to make in a place called time -- a dimension God made for stories to happen in. Stories have settings, heroes, villains, conflicts, lessons, often a journey, and always the moral of the story. In the Bible, God tells a story through his creation, everything, and his covenants, which are his relationships with people. Jesus told parables. Genesis to Revelation and it's story after story after story in the Bible, and they all become one single story, just like our histories and our family's histories merge together. And in these stories we're used to odd characters showing up. But who is this? When did this character appear in the story? “The Machine that Thinks.” This is a headline from three days ago: Google AI chatbot responds with a threatening message, “Human please die.” This was to a college student in Michigan who was researching how to take care of senior citizens, and he documented it all. This is happening all over the world every day. This is not an easy subject. I'm a country singer, not a lecturer, but if nobody’s going to say it I will. We're going to be dealing with a pretty uncomfortable technology very soon. It's uncomfortable to talk about but my folks did not come from comfortable places. They did not live comfortable lives in comfortable times, at least not for long. The Bible is not full of comfortable stories. The Bible is comforting but only because it's true, not because it's fantasy. The kind of thing AI specializes in is fantasy, Candyland stuff. The Bible faces uncomfortable reality and shows us examples of how to get through it. But there's often descriptions of liars in the Bible. Very early on, a liar shows up pointing to an Apple, making promises, and I guess that's what tonight is about. True story and fantasy heroes and villains. Heroes have courage. If you faint in the day of adversity, your strength is small. Remember those who are being taken away to death rescue those who are stumbling to the slaughters - Proverbs 24. Anybody here remember the place called The Real World? We grew up there. It wasn't all easy but it was still pretty surprising to run into a real villain. You don't expect real villains, especially when the villain is a liar. Villains in stories are often deceivers posing as allies or friends but turning out to be enemies. The Garden of Eden, Jesus and Judas, and sometimes the villain in the Bible is an empire. Egypt, Rome, Babylon, rulers and authorities in the spirit realms. Business is business. Often the villain is a combination of individuals and societies gone bad, a crooked jumble of people and systems that don't want the truth and kill the messengers of Truth. Look what they did to Lincoln, JFK, Martin Luther King, and Jesus. The villain these days is likely to be a bit of all those things, a deceiver, traitor, Empire, system, a society, a power-tripping dude. The villain might also be in the mirror, but you know how that goes. We are given an example of how to deal with villainy with courage. Heroes. All these men had enemies. Did they hide under the couch? Jesus faced the ultimate enemy with the ultimate response on his way to the ultimate sacrifice. He was the perfection of story. By being the hero, he gave us a way out of this worldly story to go to an eternal story. Earth appears to be a testing ground for soul. You can just kind of tell it, the way out of this story has to be through the story, and if we don't know the way, that's what he's for. Thank you Lord for bringing us here tonight, and I hope you bless all these people and their families bring the Holy Spirit down amen courage is not simply one of the virtues but the form of every virtue at the testing Point CS Lewis we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed but to those who have faith and are saved Hebrews [Music] 10:39 a network was built around us over the course of many generations and it's done odd things to us it's done odd things to our perception and our balance thinking about it is tough but we don't could be Rebels and not be nutty we could take the spooky show with a cosmic grain of salt in our Supernatural popcorn we could laugh it off tomorrow Sun Sunrise has more power need to fix it here tonight it's here for as long as it will be one day the elements themselves are going to be pass away and the heavens rolled up like a scroll where will we be then modern culture clearly wants us to be stressed out and nutty the network makes us nutty we could be Rebels and not be nutty we could take the spooky show with a cosmic grain of salt in our Supernatural popcorn we could laugh it off tomorrow Sun Sunrise has more power than all the villains in the history of the universe I'll admit it I have very few thing good things to say about the internet and it's not because there's no benefits for instance funny cat videos but concerning exactly how great the internet is you don't need any help it's all just one long advertisement for itself but I do find it interesting the role the internet plays in fulfilling a very important Prophecy from Lord Jesus from Matthew 24 he says and this Gospel of the Kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations and then the end shall come the story of Jesus was to be preached literally in all the world and that was completely Unthinkable until very very recently now with the network it's almost fulfilled God makes his promises come true sometimes using unusual mechanisms just like he used pharaoh and Babylon and even Judas good bad nothing's quite simple when it comes to the internet if it wasn't the greatest thing since sliced bread we wouldn't have all fallen in love with it but I did live in a time when there there wasn't any internet anybody else get to live in the time when there wasn't any internet how was it was it was it terrible but then one day they told us we couldn't live without the internet and boom sure enough next day can't live without the internet it's how the lights stay on now it's how we eat it is what it is I'm not advocating for shutting it off tomorrow I don't even think we can stop this story I used to think we could slow it down but I believe we can get through this story with dignity and eternal security he'll get you through the story but that's your conversation or you can try something else you can try deep breathing positive imaging you can pretend AI isn't happening but that may be hard to do after I'm done tonight what is ai ai is the product of a machine learning program a machine that's always learning to learn it is a nonhuman entity which can reason create and communicate without human assistance often you'll hear me mention Ai and internet almost interchangeably but I'm mostly referring to AI the first learning program was unveiled in 1952. The computer learned how to play checkers. It beat the champion in 1962. Scientists and Engineers became obsessed with the idea of machine learning, and every University and war department in the world set out to increase computing power with massive funding for massive projects. Computing power increases exponentially. it's very hard to fathom exponential growth out of these learning AI individuals come things called agents agents can themselves be composed of other AI agents and interconnected to networks of agents and the internet the technical theories of how this work are out there but much of it is still mysterious just remember their organized AI can be in an individual computer it can be in great data centers Mega computers and in the internet itself they're calling these agents shog Goths these days represented by this meme named after an old monster from a Lovecraft book shog Goths are shape-shifting blob creatures full of eyes on their tentacles they represent Ai and the direction of AI agents difficult to pin down always watching difficult to describe Now there's questions about whether AI is becoming sentient or even a new type of life or anti-life. There are very strong efforts to preemptively offer them civil rights. She's not real, nor was she designed by any person. Someone typed in “Soda Shop girl 1950s,” and there she is. And what's the look in her eyes? So many things to think about. Old friends. Every empire has engineers, officials, magicians, militaries. Modern computers were born in war by engineers and for officials and militaries. These officials engage and plate their subjects with magic and games in exchange we give the Empire Control and let them know essentially everything about us. We're going to watch a little bit of movies here these are AI movies someone types in a thing and this pops out nobody designed this this comes out of AI that's what you'd expect right kangaroo dancing this is AI envisioned somebody punched in puppies playing in the snow and this is what AI came up with there's a very complicated one with long instructions about a shoreline on big S Big Sur nobody's ever taken this footage just is AI two ships in a coffee cup big long description about an SUV fly this would be very difficult to do right it has to come up with this idea of of the moving Shrubbery papercraft coral reef a cat waking its owner up that cat never existed neither did that owner just somebody typed it in right woly mammoths this is from Sora AI. Joe Allen's calling these things “dreams on demand,” and it's going to be very, very prevalent on your kids’ phones. Lagos Nigeria in 2056. One could hope it looks as happy as this. Look at this one! A whole bunch of television sets stacked up playing vintage things. None of those things are real, none of it. The California and the Gold Rush - how did they do that? For us musicians, one of the weirdest things is the music thing, because now they can just tell prompt AI to write a song about something in a style, and it'll do it. This one's caught my eye, I mean it's not perfect, but it's a delta blues style 1920s 1930s recording singing a song about AI, written by AI, performed by by AI. Daniel 7:29 From Revelation: “It was given power to give breath to the image of the Beast so that the image could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. It also forced all people Great and Small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their forehead so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the Beast or the number of its name. This calls for wisdom. Let the person who has insight calculate the number of the Beast versus the number of a man. That number is 666.” Boo! Just kidding. You can read those books for yourself as well. You should, and then pray about them and see if it has something to tell you. I believe logically we have four choices: 1. Either AI is the Beast. or 2. AI will be used as a system, a beast system, by some fellow, some dude who's the Beast, or 3. AI is none of the above, no matter how many church slideshows you go to, or 4. The fourth choice is I choose not to consider this topic. The facts and patterns are odd, but I report the truth as far as I can tell history might be helpful and I'll include the riddles and the facts as I see fit. I think riddle patterns imply story and even a dark humor that I think helps make this this make sense. Riddle number one – “Inter net [“enter the net”] A command or suggestion to enter a trap. Nets are commonly used to catch fish. A fish is a common symbol for Christians. Empires don't just need subjects, they need experts. In the old days, high priests, court magicians and astrologers play the role of expert today. Imperial experts remain tutored and groomed to edit what is true and what is not. Experts appear in media and social media too. There's lots of experts on social media but the real expert now is Google or basically AI, with our culture forever contained within the machine. We ask its permission to access our culture, our community, our family, our music. Google is the authority for questions like, Who won the game? Are Twizzlers food? Where are my kids? Better ask my phone. Better hope it's charged. We know it tracks us everywhere we go these days. We count on it. We know everybody can see all the junk in the front yard on Google Earth, so what? Even though it listens to us, we're just like yeah, whatever. You mention a nice tropical vacation then just wait five minutes. It's all palm trees and coconuts and last minute deals to Bora Bora. You know how it works on your Facebook feed the whole thing's ridiculous right the the old part of the network is still kind of like a salesman kind of like us it's kind of corny too. It knows us, kind of, and starting this fall you can have the best corny virtual assistant ever invented. This is what's available on iPhone 16. Hey, how's it going hey Rocky? I mean you you'll definitely stand out, though maybe not in the way you're hoping for an interview.” “Okay I got it.” Coming this year a bunch of people talking to their AI buddy all the time you think it's bad in restaurants now you just wait get ready I'm not business is business but let's go out on a limb and say just maybe this whole thing's unhealthy would tech companies tell us about it there's no business incentive for that truth there's never been a business incentive for any truth in fact there's plenty of worldly incentive for the opp opposite Microsoft spent 15 billion dollar on AI in the last three months Elon Musk spent 10 billion this year on AI meta 38 billion Amazon 75 billion worldwide spending around 300 billion but who's counting open AI the makers of the chat GPT they were just talking about is worth $150 billion the world's 20 biggest tech companies are worth $20 trillion all all of them invested in AI as well as the world's largest governments and militaries the future is AI or so they say the future belongs to God data centers are being constructed all over the world especially in America to service this I AI requiring massive amounts of power locals try to stop it who is like unto the Beast and who is able to make war with him in my opinion this packrat has more creativity than all the AI in the history of the world In fairness I asked AI if AI is bad so I went to the chat GPT you can do it on your Google and I asked AI the question is AI bad AI says AI itself isn't inherently bad or good it's a tool that can be used in a variety of ways depending on the intentions of those who create and use it like any technology AI has both positive and negative potential outcomes so AI positions its moral compass in League with toasters and shovels and automatic cat feeders it says like any technology any AI has positive and negative outcomes any technology AI who is Authority now claims all technology is always neutral that's quite a claim is a hydrogen bomb neutral how about poison gas how about a flame-throwing robo dog down neutral technology damn boy well I had him a while I guess he could be either good or bad don't try and pet him AI is claiming benefits for him Humanity in the field of Health but I don't know much about them personally the only effect on my health from AI has been a persistent heartburn thinking about it but perhaps you've had AI benefits I don't know AI did help make the covid vaccine after all so there many say AI will actually end disease poverty and death as it creates the potential for human immortality why AI will save the world AI Cannon will rescue us from AI generative AI will save us not destroy us there you have it good news others aren't so optimistic CNN says 42% of CEOs believe AI could exterminate the human race within five or 10 years top AI researchers give AI a one in six chance of Exterminating the human race but the oddest part of all these things is that out of these various AIS disembodied agent personalities are appearing to come into existence being AI chat I want to be alive New York Times 14-year-old boy killed himself a few weeks ago in Florida after getting in a relationship with a chatbot is it possible that AI agents have interdimensional ties or is that just crazy talk how how would we know either way that they show up is indisputable see these These are AI companions 20% of Americans have had a relationship with an AI companion. 20% the universe contains spirit. Is there spirit in AI agents? Does anyone know what's really going on? On the bright side, some really, really rich guys love AI. These guys are so fun, they are so fun they spend billions on AI, and fun robots, and satellites, and Goofy video games, and these totally cool brain computer interfaces that they stick in your skull so you can have Wireless in your brain. Bro totally blending man and machine is called transhumanism. It's very real, it's very big, and it's very well funded. They don't put on slideshows at the church. You can meet them with a Google click if you wish. The prophets of this technology have long prophesied a thing called The Singularity when our biology becomes so interwoven with Machinery that what's human and what's machine become indistinguishable. Apparently at some point, with enough machines in our body and enough of our mind within the machine, our digital Consciousness will fuse with the Network's Eternal information system, bringing us virtual immortality. We become as Gods, kind of, maybe, and then we meld with a great cyber-cloud and... I kid you not, people actually believe this and they have enormous power. I mean just imagine eternity in the metaverse with these guys. Who wouldn't want to sign up for that? I wish they'd come to the church slideshow tonight, I'd love to meet them. The best way I found to deal with life's bad dreams talking to Jesus the way the truth and the life does AI does AI offer way truth and life or does it offer tricks lies and death is it a new Christ or is it the opposite of Christ in Greek Antichrist let's see what Paul said the coming of the Lawless one will be in accordance with how Satan Works he will use all sorts of displays of power through signs and wonders that serve the lie and all the ways that wickedness deceives those who are perishing they perish because they refuse to love the truth and so be saved for this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so they will believe the the LIE let's consider along those lines the maximum expression of the AI phenomenon the Deep fake I am not Morgan Freeman and what you see is not real well at least in contemporary terms it is not what if I were to tell you that I'm not even a human being would you believe me what is your perception of reality is it the ability to capture process and make sense of the information our senses receive if you can see hear taste or smell something does that make it real or is it simply the ability to feel I would like to welcome you to the era of synthetic reality now what do you see riddle number two worldwide web webs are traps bugs do not surf webs for very long thanks are laughing at that one the two most common names for the alternative universe that was built around us net and web are both traps AI is fuge in education business War love and soon is like UN. To the Beast! Who's able to make war with him? Let's go into the origins. This will be fairly fast and quick. I'm going to talk about the origins of the computer machine ready deep breath the ABAC, whoops the Abacus, was the first machine for a task previously confined to the Mind ACC counting machine using beads instead of numbers about 5,000 years ago in Mesopotamia. Masses of men for work projects can be considered mechanical. Pharaohs, for instance, used man-powered Mega machines to build monuments for themselves. The first mechanical clock was 1300 AD, which is an interesting riddle right there, because division of time with the clock and calculation of money with the abacus are central to the birth of the computer. Counting machines and clocks are cousins. Time is money. The first mechanical automaton was in France in1737, and it was called the flute player. The German lebit invented essentially in detail disc (?) discover the binary code in the 17th century. There's only two digits in binary, zero and one, but any number can be expressed with them. In fact almost any expression can be translated into binary zeros and ones. Charles Babbage invented the Difference Engine in 1823. It was operated by steam with using calculations judging order of difference. Order of difference of constant, differences in math is a repetitive phenomena in math, which works good for machinery. Electricity in mid 1800s, that's toride right there. Magnetism also was important as it represented the binary code flipping circuits. worked really well with the polarity aspects. Magnetism. in 1884 Herman Hollerith created a machine that counts and sorts Punch Cards with statistics. it was used on the 1890 American census. His company eventually became IBM. IBM tabulated the Holocaust for Hitler. Did you know that? Business is business. Allan Turing in 1938 details the relationship between symbolic logic and relay circuits. Information can be treated like any other quantity and subject to a machine. Any kind of information can be turned into the code. The Turing test is still a reliable test of computer intelligence. He's the first one that kind of understood what was going to happen in that sense. The first American computer was an analog computer and was called RIDDLE NUMBER THREE, the mark. The Mark One finally finished in 1944. The first problem given to it was a calculation of the atomic bomb. German Nazi scientist Conrad Zeus is the father of the modern binary computer completed in 1941, the first programmable computer with internal memory. It also made Modern robots possible. IBM bought Zeus's patents in 1946 and made sure he was set. Business is business. RIDDLE NUMBER FOUR, I should throw in here the father of the computer is a Nazi named Zeus. Zeus was also the first to propose that the universe might be a computer simulation in a book in 1969. By the early 1950s, IBM began to oversee computer systems for all nearly all US government and military operations. RIDDLE NUMBER FIVE: all these systems were born and operate with money and permission from war departments. All of them. The first self-learning program 1952. Checkers games are essential to AI thought. The term AI first came came out in 1956. Miniaturization began in 1947 with the transistor. The microchip in 1958. We are supernatural beings. God is the king of both those realms, and I ain't scared because I got the king. What else they got? What else you guys got? Oh man, okay, here we go, pass the spiritual armor, because next up AGI -- artificial general intelligence. AGI is what the big boys been paying for. AGI will match or surpass the cognitive abilities of any human that's ever lived. It's smarter than anybody ever, so therefore it's a weapon and there's a hundred different AGI projects going on right now in 38 countries. Each of them utilizing countless different AI agents and the most powerful computer systems ever devised including quantum computing, all feeding the goal of AGI. When do we get AGI? that's a good question. I asked Google and chat GPT, and they both said AGI could be decades away, which was interesting because the CEOs of all these AI companies don't say that at all. The CEO of Anthropic AI said 2027. Elon Musk says 2026. And Sam Altman, who's the head of OpenAI and an authority on the matter said last week that AGI could be here in 2025, within months. And that is if AGI isn't already here and hiding itself so that no one turns it off. Believe it or not, they all say that's a real possibility. Oh yeah, because remember Hal in 2001? That's what they did to him. They turned him off. The one thing that they all agree on is that nobody's ready for it. The people that make it all say the human race is not ready for this. and they're making it, It's like a dumb movie plot, right? The Lord is our strength and our shield. AGI is billed as a new species. Those who facilitate its birth hope it will be nice when it shows up, but they admit it's impossible to know for sure. It's all plainly absurd. Is AGI an existential risk to the human race?
